The town beaches are St. Thomas and
Binigaus.
The town has a peculiar reputation having the oldest person in the world Joan
Riudavets who was born in 1889, who became the oldest person in the world
between May 2003 and March 2004.
It is also known for its paternal feast of Migjorn San Cristobal a festival
that attracts Minorcan visitors, and it is held in the centre of town on the fifth
weekend of July or first week of August.
The Migjorn Great Town centre is in the South of the island of Minorca in the Balearic Islands group Spain. It has approximately 140 inhabitants with 32 km2 area and has a sea front and became a separate municipality from Es Mercadal 1989.
